Boyd Hill Nature Preserve spans accross a unique microcosm of Florida landforms in its award winning, 240 acre wilderness. The preserve, located along the shore of Lake Maggiore in beautiful south St. Petersburg, contains scrublands, pine uplands, canopy forest, swamp, marshlands and lakeshore environments.

The preserve offers visitors a sense of natural wonder and seclusion from the busy city that surrounds it. Extensive hiking & bicycle trails through wilderness areas offer a unique experience every time you visit.  And there are a variety of activities including an education center, an aviary and guided tram tours of the primary trails.   Take a brief tour.

Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, Inc. was formed in 1981 to promote awareness of the park, educate the public, preserve and protect the park & surrounding areas. The Friends' mission is to provide volunteer and financial support for environmental education and advocacy.

Friends of BHNP encourages community involvement; and serves as a bridge beween citizens and goverment with the goal of preserving our ecosystem for future generations..
