  • Bird of Prey / Avian Educational Stewards (AES) (please see below)
The Friends of BHNP have supported the Bird of Prey program for over 20 years.  Our avian educational stewards provide a lifetime of quality care for permanently injured birds in the aviary at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. Stewards must be at least 16 years old for cleaning and 18 years old for handling the birds. Volunteers must be curious, dependable, work well with others, and be willing to learn the details associated with the care of these magnificent raptors.

To volunteer, please fill out an application and attend a volunteer orientation.  To sign up for a volunteer orientation, please call the front desk at 727-893-7326 to schedule.
