Joanna is an associate professor of communication in the College of Engineering at the University of South Florida. She has served as a grant reviewer for the NSF and as co-principal investigator on NSF grants. A Florida native, Joanna began developing a deep appreciation for Florida’s natural history and ecology at a young age. She is a certified Florida Master Naturalist and dedicated native landscaper, raising two sons who are young advocates for Florida’s wild spaces.
